In the midst of a national reckoning, we honor a 155-year-old holiday. On a sobering note, it also illustrates how justice has always been slow for Black people. The best thing we can do now is to keep supporting artists of color who are the changemakers and shapers of a new world by purchasing their works, and by donating to their projects.
